Job Description
REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or any related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in related field that involves civil structure design practice, project management & supervision.
• Familiar with design software e.g. AutoCad, BIM, StaadPro, Esteem and etc.
• Able to handle and supervise construction project including building construction and infrastructure works (e.g. building construction, road & drainage).
• Experience in Geotechnical works (e.g. ground improvement works, surcharge, PVD, reclamation, slope and settlement monitoring works or related field).
• Experience in Marine construction works (e.g. Berth construction, dredging, marine piling and bathymetric survey).
• Experience in major project and development especially port related is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites; Word, Excel and PowerPoint and social media platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The roles are to support the various responsibilities of the Project Department including:
• Design, develop and review technical building and infrastructure plans and drawings for the project.
• Supervise the on-site team, ensuring the design and build concepts comply with the design requirements.
• Verify technical designs and drawings for accuracy and to ensure that they are followed correctly.
• Monitor construction budget spending and ensure the spending is within the financial budgets.
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety.
• Review and verify the contractor’s submission e.g. Material approval, works program, Method statement, HIRARC and etc. and ensure the submission meets the specification and design requirements.
• Analyse and verify work done for monthly Interim Progress Claim (IPC) from contractor for management approval.
• Assist HOD to liaise with User department & port user to carry out project planning and implementation before and during construction.
• Prepare department and project budget and manage the cost accordingly.
