TECHNICIAN (CIVIL)

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS:
•    Candidate must possess at least a Certificate in Civil Engineering or any related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in construction works. 
•    Knowledgeable in the field of construction, supervising work on the construction site, skilled in the field of contract preparation and multitasking. 
•    Skills in technical measurement, bill of quantities, drawing, specification & physical work supervision.
•    Good communication skills in English and Malay, both oral and written. 
•    Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:    
The roles are to support the various responsibilities of the Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Department including:
•    Execute and monitor scheduled preventive maintenance plans;
•    Execute and monitor on-going project/ repair works (i.e. record site-diary, on-site work supervision, daily work progress);
•    Conduct daily tool-box briefing to relevant employees/ contractors;
•    Ensure work is carried out in a timely manner and in accordance with the expected work specifications;
•    Ensure that employees/ contractor complies with relevant legislation, safety guidelines and conditions of works in the Port area (KP, KPA & Freezone regulations);
•    Resolve minor issues on-site with the relevant stakeholders; 
•    Maintain a record of all on-site problems and report to the supervisor;
•    Assist to streamline on-site works to avoid delays in entering the work area;
•    Assisting in the preparation of payments to contractors (Interim, Final Payments, Release of Retention money)
