TRAFFIC CONTROLLER

Job Description

• To co-ordinate the management of data collection from the site, the transmission of information to site and report generation.
• To monitor the traffic and road condition at the Control centre.
• To assist, advise, disseminate information and register complaints of road users received through INFOLINE.
• To call emergency support services to the site during an accident, exigencies, and implementing the traffic management any non-recurrent incidents.

Key Task

• To ensure the TCSS area must be clear at all times.
• To manage the collection and transmission of information from the site including data capture and report generation.
• To inform the Executive On-Call and top management pertaining to events on the Expressway that require intervention.
• To inform the local authorities on the major non-common event that has taken place on the Highway.
• To assist road users on the disposal of breakdown assistance, help required as receipt through INFOLINE.
• Gathering information on road, traffic condition and conveyance of such information to users, local radio stations other means of the traffic control surveillance devices.
• The direction of enforcement and execution personnel at the site (standby, patrol, subcontractor, etc) during any incident or disposal of non-recurrent incidents.
• Communication with emergency support services (Ambulance, fire engine, local police, traffic police, rescue team, Jabatan Alam Sekitar, etc.) for quick response to an accident, exigencies life-threatening situation on the Expressway.
• Operation of the graphic panel or VMS display upon instruction by immediate superior.
• Operation of roadside traffic control equipment and system available.
• Undertake other duties as directed by the immediate superior, Executive on-call.
